aLEX loCKWOOD - DIRECTOR
Alex Lockwood is the founder of Lockwood Film. He has directed and produced multiple award-winning projects that address critical social and environmental issues. His BAFTA-winning film 73 Cows, alongside other acclaimed films have earned recognition at prestigious festivals, including the Jury's Special Prize at Filmets Barcelona. As a result of the media attention his work has received, he has been invited twice to screen films in the EU Parliament before policymakers.
Alex has collaborated with renowned executive producers, including Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara and his work has been met with critical acclaim, including an Oscar nomination nod from Variety magazine.
In addition to his filmmaking, Alex is dedicated to nurturing emerging talent in the industry. He actively mentors university students, providing them with valuable insights into the craft of documentary filmmaking. He has also served as a judge for prestigious film festivals, including the IFTAs (Irish Film & Television Academy Awards) and Big Syn International Film Festival. 
Alex also serves on the Advisory Board for the Centre for Contemporary Sciences, reflecting his research and advocacy surrounding the issue of animal testing.
Nishat Rahman - PRODUCER
Nishat Rahman has been a Producer and Marketer at Lockwood Film since its inception in 2012. In her role as Producer, Nishat was a key driving force behind the BAFTA-winning 73 Cows, having come up with the original idea, and has played a pivotal role in the conceptualisation of many projects. This includes the award-winning Test Subjects, Monbiot, and our first feature-length film 'The End of Medicine'.
With a dual focus on both production and marketing, Nishat has been instrumental in the success of numerous film campaigns. She has led the charge in creating and executing campaigns for films with limited budgets, reaching and engaging large audiences. Nishat brings a unique blend of creativity, strategic marketing expertise, and a deep passion for animal welfare and nature preservation to her work.
In addition to her role at Lockwood Film, Nishat also works provding content creation for an educational animal welfare charity, further showcasing her commitment to causes she cares about.

Oliver Walton - cINEMATOGRAPHER & Collaborator
Oliver Walton is the Director of Fix8 Films and a key collaborator with Lockwood Film as a cinematographer. With over 18 years of experience in film and television, Oliver has received critical acclaim for his cinematic style across several of our joint productions. His work has garnered high praise from both critics and audiences alike.
Oliver has been an integral part of Lockwood Film from the very beginning, playing a crucial role in shaping the visual storytelling of our projects. He cut his teeth on high-profile programs like The Apprentice before founding Fix8 Films, which has since produced corporate work for numerous clients while also focusing on impactful documentaries.
Oliver also conducts workshops at universities, where he mentors students and provides hands-on guidance in cinematography, helping to nurture emerging talent in the film industry.
John Roddy - Sound Specialist & collaborator
John Roddy is the founder of Audio Bassment, a UK-based audio production company specializing in sound for film and television. Since 2018, John has worked closely with Lockwood Film on countless productions, with his sound recording and sound design playing a crucial role in bringing our work to life through audio. His contributions have been integral to the success of many of our award-winning and festival-featured films.
John’s impressive body of work includes acclaimed documentaries such as the BAFTA-winning 73 Cows, The End of Medicine, and Death is But a Dream. John and Audio Bassment also extends its expertise to corporate productions and select drama projects, including SeaView and Daniel’s Room, ensuring that each story is told with care, creativity, and technical precision.
In addition to his work in sound, John also leads sound design workshops at colleges and universities across the country, sharing his knowledge and passion for the craft with the next generation of filmmakers.
